Inside the course

Start with configuration management as an automation approach, then examine the management of cloud instances. The third lesson brings Puppet into a local environment, and the final chapter returns to cloud services and automation. Follow the videos in sequence to connect a declared configuration with the systems that need to maintain it.

Try this learning exercise

Design a configuration plan for three fictional servers. List the packages, services and settings that should be consistent, distinguish desired state from one-off commands and sketch how changes would be checked before wider rollout. Complete the plan without creating a paid cloud resource.
