Course Overview
The publisher’s curriculum is distinct from a general SharePoint user introduction: its three sessions focus on the site-manager role. Follow the progression while keeping the purpose of the site, the information it contains and the people using it visible. Site decisions affect navigation, content organisation and the way work is coordinated. These recordings use older SharePoint Online interfaces, so current Microsoft 365 behaviour and administration options may differ. Treat a demonstration as a way to understand the task and verify current details before applying it to an organisation site.
How to study the course
- Work through the three site-manager sessions in order. Describe the site’s purpose and audience before changing its structure or settings.
- Use a practice site where you have appropriate permission. Check current product behaviour and inspect the result from the intended user’s perspective.
Use the searchable classroom lesson list to revisit a specific explanation. Pause after a useful demonstration, reproduce a small example and explain the result in your own words. Keep a short note of what worked, what changed and what you still need to understand before moving on.
Who is this for?
This course is for SharePoint site owners, coordinators and professionals learning the site-manager role. It suits learners with some familiarity with document collaboration who want a more deliberate approach to managing a site.
Before you start
Basic SharePoint knowledge is helpful. Hands-on work needs a suitable practice site and site-management permissions. A Microsoft 365 environment and paid services are separate from the free recorded videos.
Put the lessons into practice
Plan a fictional project site with a small document collection and a clear audience. Define how someone should find information and what responsibilities belong to the site manager. Identify one management change from the course and describe its intended effect. Test it only in an appropriate practice environment, then check the result from another user’s perspective where possible. Keep a record of the setting, permission and version assumptions. Review whether the change improves the site’s purpose or merely adds complexity.
This optional activity is provided by WikiFree for independent practice. It is not a graded assignment from the instructor. Keep your working notes, check the result against the task you defined and return to the relevant lesson when an assumption or technique is unclear.
Certificate / Assessment
Watching the public videos and using WikiFree progress tracking does not award a certificate, exam voucher, academic credit or instructor assessment.
Use your practice output to review what you can now explain and repeat independently. Completion tracking records your study progress; it does not replace an assessed qualification or professional experience.
