Course Overview

The source brings together SQL Querying Fundamentals, a longer beginner querying class and the Reporting Services sequence, which develops through beginner, advanced, expert and master-labelled training. The full Reporting Services course remains available alongside the individual classes. Start with the querying foundations, then use the reporting sessions to connect retrieved information with a report a reader can understand. The curriculum uses SQL Server Reporting Services, so it is not a general course on every database system. Recorded software interfaces and environment setup may differ from a current installation.

How to study the course

  • Begin with the querying fundamentals and beginner session before moving to the reporting classes. Keep a clear distinction between source records, query output and the finished report.
  • Study the Reporting Services stages in their stated progression, then use the full-course compilation for review. All source sessions remain available in the classroom.

Use the searchable classroom lesson list to revisit a specific explanation. Pause after a useful demonstration, reproduce a small example and explain the result in your own words. Keep a short note of what worked, what changed and what you still need to understand before moving on.

Who is this for?

This course is for learners interested in database querying and SQL Server reporting. It suits analysts and reporting professionals looking for a practical introduction to the connection between data retrieval and presentation.

Before you start

Basic computer and tabular-data knowledge is helpful. Hands-on work needs a compatible SQL and Reporting Services practice environment. Software, hosting and service access are separate from the free video training.

Put the lessons into practice

Create a small invented table of workshop bookings in an appropriate practice database. State the question your query should answer and identify the required fields. Check the returned records manually before using them in a report. Design a simple report with a clear title, meaningful labels and an explanation of any filter. Try an empty result and a changed record to see how the report responds. Keep notes on the environment and assumptions so that another learner could reproduce the example.

This optional activity is provided by WikiFree for independent practice. It is not a graded assignment from the instructor. Keep your working notes, check the result against the task you defined and return to the relevant lesson when an assumption or technique is unclear.

Certificate / Assessment

Watching the public videos and using WikiFree progress tracking does not award a certificate, exam voucher, academic credit or instructor assessment.

Use your practice output to review what you can now explain and repeat independently. Completion tracking records your study progress; it does not replace an assessed qualification or professional experience.
