What you’ll learn
- Explain the purpose of VBA and identify a small Excel task that could benefit from automation.
- Relate ranges and variables to the worksheet data and values used by a macro.
- Use the loop and conditional-statement lessons to understand repetition and decision-making in a task.
- Follow the complete teaching sequence and check a macro’s behaviour before adapting it to another workbook.
Skills you’ll gain
- Excel VBA foundations
- Ranges and variables
- Loops
- Conditional statements
- Macro reasoning
- Automation practice
Course Overview
The instructor introduces why VBA is useful before developing the building blocks needed to automate work in Excel. Ranges and variables provide a way to refer to worksheet data and keep track of values. Loops and conditional statements then support repeated actions and decisions, while the later teaching session connects position, control and a task. The long compilation remains alongside the five individual parts, so you can study in sections or revisit the complete class. Learning to explain a small macro is a stronger foundation than running a large example without understanding its effect.
How to study the course
- Begin with the purpose and terminology of VBA, then work through the five teaching parts in sequence. Keep the practice workbook small and inspect the effect of each step.
- Use the full-course compilation for review, while retaining the individual lessons for focused practice. Both formats belong to the source curriculum.
Use the searchable classroom lesson list to revisit a specific explanation. Pause after a useful demonstration, reproduce a small example and explain the result in your own words. Keep a short note of what worked, what changed and what you still need to understand before moving on.
Who is this for?
This course is for Excel users beginning to explore macros and coding. It suits office professionals and self-taught learners who want an explanation of the underlying logic before attempting more complex automation.
Before you start
Basic Excel navigation is helpful. Hands-on practice needs an Excel environment with VBA support, which is separate from free video viewing. Use a copy of a practice workbook when experimenting with code.
Put the lessons into practice
Create a workbook containing a short list of invented orders. Identify one repetitive formatting or checking task and describe its intended result in plain language. Use the relevant lessons to build a small macro around that task. Inspect the range it acts on, the values it stores and the condition controlling any decision. Run it on a copy of the workbook, then try a blank row or an unexpected value. Record the result and explain the code without relying on the instructor’s demonstration.
This optional activity is provided by WikiFree for independent practice. It is not a graded assignment from the instructor. Keep your working notes, check the result against the task you defined and return to the relevant lesson when an assumption or technique is unclear.
Certificate / Assessment
Watching the public videos and using WikiFree progress tracking does not award a certificate, exam voucher, academic credit or instructor assessment.
Use your practice output to review what you can now explain and repeat independently. Completion tracking records your study progress; it does not replace an assessed qualification or professional experience.
