## How to use
Create a folder containing these eight artifacts, or keep them as eight sections in one document. Replace the blank prompts with your decisions. Your work must be internally consistent. A spreadsheet is optional; a text editor or printed pages are sufficient.

## Fictional project brief
Plan a free 90-minute digital-skills workshop for a local community group in 20 working days, with the session on day 18. Team: you and two volunteers. Spending limit: $500. Target 30 registrations, at least 24 attendees, at least 20 feedback responses and at least 80% useful ratings among respondents. Do not spend real money or invent actual approval signatures.

## 1. Charter
- Problem and intended benefit:
- Success measures and evidence:
- In-scope deliverables:
- Out-of-scope work:
- Deadline and budget ceiling:
- Sponsor and decision authority:
- Assumptions (at least two):
- Approval (simulated):

## 2. Scope and work breakdown
Create at least four deliverables and eight tasks.
| Deliverable | Task ID | Task | Owner | Acceptance condition | Exclusions |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | | | | |

## 3. Schedule
| Task ID | Owner | Effort | Start day | End day | Predecessors | Milestone / evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | | | | | |
Check that work starts after its dependencies and that each owner has enough time. Explain how a two-day delay to registration preparation affects outreach.

## 4. Budget
| Item | Baseline cost | Approved change | Forecast cost | Actual cost | Explanation |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Venue | 120 | | | | |
| Refreshments | 90 | | | | |
| Printing | 60 | | | | |
| Equipment | 50 | | | | |
| Materials | 80 | | | | |
| Base total | 400 | | | | |
Record reserve separately: $80 at baseline. Total initial authorization: $480. Spending limit: $500. A reserve draw transfers money to a cost line; do not count it twice.

## 5. Risk register
Write at least five risks. Likelihood and impact bands are prioritization aids, not probabilities.
| ID | Cause / event / effect | Likelihood | Impact | Owner | Prevention | Trigger | Fallback |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | | | | | | |
Put events that have already happened in an issue/action log:
| Issue | Effect | Action | Owner | Due | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | | | | |

## 6. Stakeholder and communication plan
Include sponsor, volunteers, facilitator, venue contact and participants.
| Audience | Information / decision needed | Channel | Frequency / trigger | Owner | Approval due |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | | | | |

## 7. Status report and change log
Report date:
Overall status and reason:
Completed and evidence:
Current risks / issues:
Next actions with owners and dates:
Decision needed and deadline:

| Request | Cost / schedule / scope impact | Options | Recommendation | Decision owner | Decision / date | Baseline update |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | | | | | |

Case update A: on day 10 there are 12 registrations, below the checkpoint of 20. Propose a response and next review date.
Case update B: printing rises from $60 to $94. Show a $34 approved reserve draw, revised base $434 and remaining reserve $46. The authorized total remains $480.
Case update C: a sponsor requests video recording/editing for $120 without extending the deadline. Show the impact and recommend an option. $434 + $120 = $554 before remaining reserve, above the $500 limit.

## 8. Closure and handover
Create five acceptance checks with evidence.
| Deliverable | Acceptance check | Evidence | Accepted / open | Owner / due |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | | | |
| Success measure | Target | Actual | Met? | Evidence / limitations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | | | |
Lessons learned (at least three): observation, cause, next-project action.
Final file index:
Open actions, owners and due dates:
Simulated sponsor acceptance:

Final dataset: 31 registrations; 25 attendees; 20 feedback responses; 17 useful ratings. Actual costs: venue $120, refreshments $84, printing $94, equipment $50, materials $75. Check: $423 total; $57 below initial authorization; $77 below the limit; 85% useful ratings among respondents. These data do not measure learning gains or real delivery.

## Review rubric
- Purpose and acceptance: 15 points
- Feasible plan: 20 points
- Cost and risk control: 20 points
- Communication and decisions: 20 points
- Closure and handover: 15 points
- Consistency and explanation: 10 points

Award full points for complete consistent evidence, half for usable but incomplete work, zero for missing or contradictory work. Pass at 80/100 AND fix every critical fault: missing artifact; broken dependency or impossible owner schedule; unreconciled budget or unauthorized overspend; unsupported success claim.

Add a five-minute walkthrough or a 500-word commentary explaining your two hardest decisions. Label the portfolio: Simulated project — WikiFree learning exercise.
No certificate, provider assessment, job guarantee or professional qualification is included.
