About this course
Giving can involve time, skills and relationships as well as money. Stanford’s Giving 2.0 examines how a person can make those contributions more deliberate and meaningful.
Six modules address philanthropic strategy, selecting and assessing nonprofits, taking stock of resources and sustaining a giving practice. The course uses lectures, activities and guest perspectives.

Skills you’ll gain
- Giving strategy
- Nonprofit assessment
- Resource reflection
WikiFree recommends it for learners who want a process for thinking about giving rather than a list of organisations to support. It complements ethical discussion with questions about strategy and assessment.
Consider what outcome you hope to support and what evidence would help you understand a nonprofit’s work. This course does not evaluate a current donation opportunity on your behalf, and completion does not require accepting a specific cause as the best one.
