About this course

Energy transition questions are also questions about development, finance and governance. This ENS course examines those connections with particular attention to countries in the Global South.

Seven modules consider ecological constraints, economic models, decarbonisation, prosperity, institutions and financing. The English edition brings environmental and economic perspectives into the same discussion.

WikiFree recommends it for learners with some background in economics, development or environmental study. It offers a systems-level view, rather than technical training to install or operate a specific energy technology.

As you compare proposals, note the development assumptions and the measures of progress being used. A transition strategy can look different depending on whose needs, time horizon and constraints are included. The course provides frameworks for analysis, not a current investment recommendation.
