Course Overview

Learning Circles organizes beginner language around places and situations a learner can recognize. Each video has a practical focus, which makes it easier to connect a phrase with the purpose it serves. The bus and market recordings cover travel and buying or returning things. The dentist and school lessons introduce appointment and community communication, while the ambulance, address and post-office examples extend the range of useful situations. This classroom contains the full seven-video introductory ESOL playlist. The ambulance recording is a language lesson, not medical or emergency-service training. The course offers a starting set of communication examples rather than promising every part of a formal English level.

How to study the course

  • Begin with the bus and market lessons. Practise asking a short question and recognizing the kind of answer you need.
  • Study the dentist and school examples using invented names and details. Concentrate on a clear request or explanation before trying a longer exchange.
  • Complete the ambulance, address and post-office lessons. Review how the examples make important information understandable, then revisit any unfamiliar phrase.

Use the searchable classroom lesson list to revisit a specific explanation. Pause after a useful demonstration, reproduce a small example and explain the result in your own words. Keep a short note of what worked, what changed and what you still need to understand before moving on.

Who is this for?

This course suits beginner ESOL learners, returning learners preparing for everyday community situations and educators supporting a short practical-language session. A study partner can help you practise both sides of a simple exchange.

Before you start

No advanced grammar is needed. Keep a notebook and allow time to listen again before speaking. Use invented personal details for practice. The classroom does not provide live interpreting, instructor correction, an emergency-response qualification or a language certificate.

Put the lessons into practice

Create a small phrase sheet for three situations: asking about a bus, arranging a routine appointment and asking for a price at a post office. Choose a short opening question, one piece of information you may need to give and one way to ask for clarification. Practise the exchanges with invented details and switch roles with a partner if available. Check whether the important information remains clear when you speak slowly. Keep the source lesson beside each phrase so you can revisit the model instead of memorizing an isolated word.

This optional activity is provided by WikiFree for independent practice. It is not a graded assignment from the instructor. Keep your working notes, check the result against the task you defined and return to the relevant lesson when an assumption or technique is unclear.

Certificate / Assessment

Watching the public videos and using WikiFree progress tracking does not award a certificate, exam voucher, academic credit or instructor assessment.

Use your practice output to review what you can now explain and repeat independently. Completion tracking records your study progress; it does not replace an assessed qualification or professional experience.
