Editorial Standards

Our aim is to help readers make informed choices with useful, original descriptions and clear access information. These standards guide the preparation, review and correction of WikiFree content.

Free learning, clearly described

Our course selection standard is an independent free learning route, rather than a temporary trial, paid subscription, free preview or financial-aid offer. A free account may be required, and that requirement must be stated. Required tools and practical activities matter as much as access to the lessons: listings must explain separate software requirements and any limits to the verified free route.

We distinguish a complete course from a learning path, preparatory material or an archived collection. A provider’s reputation does not by itself establish that a particular resource is free, current or suitable for beginners.

What we check and record

Material course claims are checked against the provider’s official course, syllabus, access or help pages. The publication checklist calls for a source review within seven days of release. The visible verification date records the review of the listing’s details; it does not mean a reviewer completed the course.

Course records identify the actual provider separately from the hosting platform, use a consistent study level and primary teaching language, and sit within WikiFree’s own subject structure. We do not import a provider’s categories as new WikiFree subjects.

We describe a free certificate, badge or statement of participation only when its availability and conditions are supported by official information. Where recognition is not evidenced, we make no promise of it. A participation statement is not described as academic credit or professional accreditation.

Original descriptions and practical value

Course articles explain the learning content, useful skills, prerequisites and practical applications in our own words. We link readers to the original provider for enrolment instead of rehosting lessons or presenting another publisher’s work as our own. Illustrations are original editorial assets, rather than copied provider hero images or invented endorsement seals.

We do not invent course completion experiences, expert biographies, student reviews, ratings, study durations, job outcomes or ranking claims. Clear navigation, readable explanations and accurate information take priority over keyword repetition.

AI assistance and review

WikiFree uses AI tools to assist original writing, illustration and file creation. Automated drafting or a model’s review of its own output is not evidence of human expert review. Source checking, editorial judgement and applicable functional checks remain separate parts of the release process.

Reviews reduce errors; they do not make content infallible or guarantee that a provider’s terms will remain unchanged. We keep source and verification information available so readers can check the details that matter to them.

Standards for original downloads

New and revised downloads must pass release checks for content, layout and relevant functionality. For spreadsheets, that includes formulas, calculations, inputs, edge cases and dashboard behaviour. Version information, file hashes, usage terms and review evidence belong in the release record. An unresolved failed check holds an item back.

Medical, legal, financial and other high-stakes guidance requires appropriate qualified review before release. Templates and general learning material are not a substitute for advice suited to an individual’s circumstances.

Corrections and reader discussion

Report an error through Contact and Corrections or contact@wikifree.com. Include the affected WikiFree URL, the disputed detail and an official source where possible. A substantiated correction should lead to an update, clarification or withdrawal when appropriate.

Article discussions are moderated before new submissions appear publicly. Relevant questions and helpful corrections are welcome; spam, abuse and private information are not.

Commercial transparency

Advertising does not establish a provider endorsement or change the facts a listing should disclose. Any sponsored placement or affiliate relationship must be labelled where it appears. Paid rankings and fabricated recommendations have no place in the library.
